About & Conclusion

Of course, we love the looks of this fan. Those of you without any lights inside your system will very much appreciate how much light these things throw. With the cold cathodes turned off the red and blue fans that I used decently lit up part of a mid-size case. We also loved how the fans looked if you match them up with a cold cathode of the same or different color. Not to mention the light coming out of the fan grill looks just plain cool. We were also very happy to see that these were the colors they were supposed to be. The red was actually red, and the blue is a really nice blue.

Construction on the fans is rather solid. I didn't like the tape that was used to hold the electrical components around the edge, to me it looks like household scotch tape. However, all the LED fans that I have seen have this same tape, even the Antecs. My only fear with the tape was that dust may become trapped underneath it, and cause an ugly mess, but I've been using these for awhile now and it's perfectly clean. Also the molex pins are a bit loose and can be a little bit of a hassle to attach sometimes, but once they are in, they're in. One other thing to be noted is the soldering job. Apparently it was overdone, causing a bump along a few of the sides of the fan. As a result, I couldn't fit it into my fan bracket and was forced to use the screws. However, it's only 1-2mm so most people shouldn't have a problem.

I was happy with the amount of air that the fans move. Compared to my Antec fan that I picked up at BestBuy temperatures are lower. It is a rather quiet fan, and I hear no difference if I unplug it while other fans are running.

All in all I really liked these fans. The few flaws they have are minor, especially considering how cool they look. It's still more expensive than a plain fan but being $6 cheaper than Antec fans makes it a deal. Anyone looking to spruce up their case or just to add a few fans should definitely check these out. If you want a really cool effect, grab some of Xoxide's cold cathodes to go with the fans. We'll be reviewing Xoxide's cold cathodes sometime in the near future, so be sure to check back in with us!

A special thanks goes to Xoxide.com for supplying us with these. If you're interested in ordering, the red are available here for $9.99, and the blue are available here for $9.99.

Pros:
·Looks sweet
·Good noise to airflow ratio
·Impress your friends
·More affordable than the competition, without lack in quality

Cons:
·Doesn't fit in my fan bracket
·Tri, not quad

Final Score: B+
